Misty Guantonio LMFT, LCADC

I understand the unique challenges that first and second responders face in their demanding and high-stress roles. Whether you're an EMT, firefighter, law enforcement, military, or healthcare worker, your well-being matters, and am here to support you.

I provide consultation to support clinicians practicing EMDR, helping you unlock the full potential of your practice. With my guidance, you'll expand your understanding, refine your skills, and achieve better outcomes for your clients.

Misty Guantonio, MEd, MA
I am a dual-licensed Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) with nearly 30 years of professional experience spanning health education and clinical practice. My work focuses on helping individuals navigate trauma, addiction, and high-stress life circumstances with clarity, resilience, and sustainable change.
I am EMDRIA-certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach proven effective in treating trauma, PTSD, and complex life experiences. EMDR allows us to address the root causes of distress rather than simply managing symptoms, supporting meaningful and lasting healing.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades as a veteran health educator. That background shaped my holistic, systems-informed approach and deepened my understanding of how physical health, emotional regulation, occupational stress, and relationships are interconnected—particularly for those in demanding professional roles.
I specialize in working with individuals in high-stress and high-risk careers, including healthcare professionals, first responders, attorneys, educators, and other helping professionals. My approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate, grounded in safety, respect, and clinical integrity.
Outside of my clinical work, I value balance and connection. I enjoy time outdoors, staying active through CrossFit, and spending time with family, friends, and my dogs.
If you are seeking focused, trauma-informed care from a clinician who understands both the personal and professional demands you carry, I would be honored to support you in your work toward healing and growth.
